Jay von Koffler

Jay von Koffler has experienced life on some of the earth’s most exotic places.  As an artist and writer, his imagination takes him beyond the known limits of our universe.  It is this highly sophisticated creative spirit that makes Jay such a talented artist.
He was born on August 23, 1948 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  He began exhibiting a strong interest in the arts when, at age 6, he painted his first series of watercolors.  During the remainder of his educational years in China, Japan, and Europe his innate creativity continued to grow.  In 1965, Jay enlisted in the Marines and spent the next four years in Vietnam.  Upon leaving the service in the summer of 1969, Jay’s artistic energies exploded.
With a constantly growing desire to know more about glassblowing techniques, Jay decided to perfect his craft and continue his exploration of his personal, creative side.  From 1973 to 1978, he traveled extensively learning from the masters about age-old glassblowing techniques and traditions.
Jay and his partner, artist Jo Ann Hawley are owners/designers of  “The Studio” in Naples, Florida.  Jay’s pieces in glass, sculpture, and paintings are currently represented in collections nationwide and in Europe.
